Planted in 1983 and grown in the Vredendal-area on the West Coast, the farm lays about 35km from the ocean.
This cultivar presents itself classicaly, beginning with a gorgeous white crisp peach and pear on the nose, and finishing with a saline salty freshness.

SOUTBOS is a super elegant and complex white blend produced from West Coast Chenin Blanc and Colombard. Starting on the nose with some citrus, melon and guava, followed on the pallet by fruity aromas that are much riper but not over-ripe, ending with savoury green herbs.
A dry minerality balances the truffle-tipe aromas with amazing sea kelp and salinity. The finish is elegant and seamless asking for more.

Our Chenin Blanc 2021 is the first vintage produced entirely from a single vineyard in Stellenbosch.
A vibrant, energized Chenin Blanc in true Ian Naudé style.

Chenin Blanc provides a foundation of stone fruit, Semillon adds tropical fruit and Sauvignon Blanc offer citrus, while all three contribute a fresh dose of acidity. Part of the Chenin Blanc and the Semillon were fermented in new French Oak barrels, lending body and complexity.
This wine has settled beautifully and is showing lovely concentration, freshness and intriguing secondary characteristics

The aromatics are restrained with a slow perfumed release of pressed violets, red bramble berry fruits, wild strawberry, sour cherry, sun raisined cranberry and the signature top notes of rose petals, crushed granite minerality and Turkish delight. The palate is packed with a fruit density, concentration and power delivered with an effortless elegance. The bright acids help frame the youthful palate fruit adding further structural integrity, finally yielding on the finish to delicately drying, mineral, fine grained stony tannins.

Our OUPA WILLEM Red 2020 is a delightful blend of 82% Cinsault, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc from the Darling and Stellenbosch regions. The 2020 vintage has a beautiful red cherry and ruby red plum clarity in the glass. On the nose, you'll be greeted by aromas of sun-raised cranberry, red cherries, branded sandalwood, nori seaweed, sweet cedar spice, fynbos, crushed granite and graphite minerality. The palate is tart and fresh.

From a spectacular block in Agter-Paardeberg, this Grenache has a mind and a life of its own.
With minimal intervention throughout, this petulant child has been rapidly evolving with it’s own ideas of where it’s going. It seems to grow in complexity and interest all the time, and is now showing a floral nose, wild strawberry, fragrant spice and an earthy, meaty intensity.
